What Will Be Left
What Will Be Left came to be after I received news the house I grew up in back in Havana had been condemned. This got me thinking about the objects we love become part of us, a monument to who we were when they came into our lives. So, I designed a series of prints with homages to my time in the house as a way to immortalize it as well as the person I was when I lived there.
These are research process pictures and sketches I made to further develop the concept.
After I settled on what I wanted the clothes to look like I polished them and added the prints in Photoshop. I then moved on to the final illustration.
I used Adobe Photoshop to create each print and develop them into patterns. I took inspiration from toys and games from my childhood, archeological remains, and Cuban architecture, including the facade of my old home.
