Eat the Rich

The Fabergé Eggs were artisanal eggs gifted among the royal family of Imperial Russia. They were a symbol of the high class’s superiority and opulence. The royals allowed themselves things as frivolous as golden eggs while the rest of the population barely had the means to keep themselves alive. They’re and example of the governmental neglect that eventually led to the Communist Revolution. The eggs reflected the royal family’s power, as well as their fragility. In this collection I explored this over the top and extravagant display of opulence.
